What is ARbotics?

ARbotics uses augmented reality (AR) technology designed to introduce the fascinating world of robotics STEM to kids in an engaging and interactive way.  The users get to learn and experience robot challenges through AR and be able to download the app completely free.  It is currently only for Android devices, and I am working on getting IOS working.  Here is a dropbox link to the most up to date prototype of ARbotics.

What is AR?

Augmented reality is an interactive experience that combines the real world and computer-generated content, in this case robotics.

How ARbotics works

1.  The user is greeted with the main menu of ARbotics where they can select from three different robots to learn about.  Each robot is designed for different age groups: Lego Robots are for elementary-aged children, Machined Robot Simple is for middle and high school-aged children, and Machined Robot Complex is for high school-aged and up.

3.  With the learning it changes on each module what the user learn about.  They can build a preset robot in ARbotics and learn more about individual parts of the robot.

2.  Once a robot is selected they can select from learning modules (top) or challenges for the user to do (bottom).  The learning does have a progression from Lego Robots to Machined Robot Complex.  The challenges are evolved to be more complex with Lego being the simplest and Machined Robot Complex being the more challenging.

4.  With the challenges the user gets clear instructions describing what the challenge is and each of the challenges increases in difficulty from left to right.  There are three different challenges, a ground challenge, drone challenge, and a space challenge.
