The vision behind ARbotics

ARbotics was born out of my capstone project during my senior year of college. As a member of a FIRST Robotics team in high school, I noticed a lack of understanding and resources that many students on my team—and others—were facing. I created ARbotics to bridge that gap, making robotics learning accessible, fun, and inspiring for kids of all ages. With interactive learning modules and challenges designed for children ages 6 and up, ARbotics lets kids explore robotics at their own pace, from the comfort of home, using a virtual robot.

What is AR?

Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that overlays digital content (such as images, sounds, or information) onto the real world, enhancing what you see and experience. Unlike virtual reality (VR), which immerses you in a completely digital environment, AR combines the physical world with digital elements in real-time.

BETA Testers

ARbotics has been tested by a diverse group of users, including 3 FIRST Robotics alumni, 6 mentors with extensive FIRST Robotics experience, and 12 current students actively participating in FIRST Robotics teams. Their feedback has been invaluable in refining ARbotics to make it the best tool for learning robotics.

Discover How ARbotics Transforms Learning

Upon entering ARbotics, users are greeted with the main menu, where they can choose from three levels of robotics lessons: Beginner (for younger learners), Intermediate (designed for pre-teens), and Expert (for high school students and beyond).

In the 'Learning' section, the content changes with each module, allowing users to explore different topics. They can build a preset robot in ARbotics and gain a deeper understanding of each individual part.

After selecting a learning level, you can easily switch between the 'Learning' and 'Challenge' tabs at the top of the screen. The content in each tab varies based on the chosen level, providing tailored experiences for each.

In the 'Challenges' section, users receive clear instructions for each task, with difficulty levels increasing from left to right. The challenges include three distinct types: a ground challenge, a drone challenge, and a space challenge.
